Agia Triada is a settlement in the Community of Mesia of the Municipality of Rethymno in the Regional Unit of Rethymno, Crete. It is located 11 km east of Rethymno, at an altitude of 200 meters.
The location of the settlement provides an impressive view of the hill opposite where the old settlement, Santa Trinita, is located, as the Venetians called it. The Renaissance church of Agia Triada, from which the village takes its name, dominates its central square. It is two-aisled and, in addition to Agia Triada, is also dedicated to Agios Nikolaos.Built in the midst of olive groves, this picturesque village experienced golden times of olive production, as its numerous olive mills testify. It is worth strolling through the picturesque streets to admire the Venetian buildings. These were later inhabited by Turks, one of whom was the large landowner Agas Albanis. His residence survives and is still inhabited today.
